Theory

This version of the diy solar swimming pool heating uses the same idea as the previous model, but instead of just laying the pipe out in the sun, to incase it behind a glass panel. Similar principal to using a magnifying glass to increase the suns heat

Items needed

Length of black hose pipe, should roughly equate to being enough to cover half your pools surface area

Pump of some description.

Wood, glass or clear perspex sheet and black paint

Contruction of your solar panel

Make up a box that your glass panel will comfortably and safely sit on. Now paint the inside of the box black, this will help increase the temperature inside the box. Next lay out your hose pipe in the box, see the picture for an example

Now enclose the box with either glass or a clear perspex sheet

Attach one end to your pump placed in the pool, the other end returning into the pool.

You should end up with something looking similar to the picture on the right.

Don’t be put off by the picture showing an inflatable pool. I have been reliably informed that this system  works on bigger pools

Foot Note

Again I have not tried this method of solar swimming pool heating. But having been a commercial heating and refrigeration engineer in the UK, I can see no reason it will not.

The only thing you might have to adjust is the water flow rate, to achieve the maximum heating of the water going through it.
